You can connect your laptop or desktop (MAC or PC) and most mobile phones now support POP3 or IMAP. There is also a basic web mail service so you can view your email from virtually anywhere in the world.
POP3/IMAP4 accounts only contain email and do not store any contacts, calendar or task info with the mailbox.
